Characteristics

  • Gypsum is an evaporite mineral most commonly found in layered sedimentary deposits in association with halite, anhydrite, sulphur, calcite and dolomite.
  • Gypsum is the most common sulphate mineral; it is approximately 19-24% calcium and 14-19% sulphur in its pure form
  • Calcium Sulphate Dihydrate between 78-98%
