Onecem

Same strength as regular portland cement. Significantly less greenhouse gases.

GUL is now OneCem: the one way to build Canada right.

OneCem - also known as General Use Limestone or Portland limestone cement - is a contemporary cement engineered for today’s needs. The use of portland limestone cement in manufacturing concrete decreases CO2 emissions by 10% while still producing concrete with the same level of strength and durability as the concrete produced with regular portland cement.

Lafarge offers the ultimate solution to change the way Canada builds:
strength, performance, and sustainability with OneCem.

Advantages

Equivalent performance

Referenced in all major standards and specifications: both nationally with CSA A23.1, CSA A3000, National Building Code of Canada, and provincially.

Lower CO2 emissions

Portland limestone cement contributes to lowering the industry’s carbon footprint not only during the manufacturing process. While cement typically represents only 11% of a concrete mix, it accounts for more than 80% of all energy required to produce concrete.

Sustainable construction practices

Portland limestone cement will contribute to more sustainable construction and cleaner air in Canada, by reducing clinker production through the use of limestone.

Applications

As with portland cements, it can be used in a wide variety of commercial and architectural concrete construction applications. Uses include cast-in-place, pre-cast, tilt-up, water tanks, drains, bridges, roads, pipes, concrete masonry units, prestressed concrete members, masonry mortars, grouts...
