TERRACEM, TERRAFLOW & TERCEM

TerraCem™

TerraCem™ is a specialized engineered blend of cementitious and other construction materials commonly used to improve the strength, volume stability, and durability of road base and/or sub-grade.

TerraCem™ can be used effectively in soil drying, compaction, and stabilization and can reduce the shrink–swell potential of high plasticity clays, making otherwise problematic soils and materials a viable base or sub-grade material. Correct application improves shear strength and sub-grade support and reduces compressibility of both cohesive soils and granular materials.

Advantages
  • Utilization of site materials
  • Recycling existing pavement structure
  • Optimizes use/reuse of material, including cementitious materials
  • Saves energy and natural resources
  • Superior performance in clay-bearing soils
  • Chemically binds contaminants within the soil structure, reducing leaching

TerraCem™ is formulated to work with soils to meet the unique needs of the road building and soil treatment industries and is not suitable for use in concrete or concrete product applications.

Applications
  • Construction of oil well working pads and access roads
  • Cement Treated Base where aggregate resources are scarce
  • Full Depth Reclamation of existing pavement structure
  • Stabilization of aggregate bases
  • Stabilization of contaminated soils
  • Deep soil and cutter soil mixing methods for ground improvement
  • Soil drying

TerraFlow™

TerraFlow™ is a specialized engineered blend of cementitious and other construction materials that allows for a more efficient and cost-effective solution for backfilling in underground mines. It has also been successfully used in a number of soil mixing applications to improve the geotechnical requirements of native soils.

Backfill Solution

TerraFlow™ is specifically designed for paste or rock backfill of underground stopes and can reduce total binder consumption when compared to Portland cement. Its formulation has also been found to be ideal for deep soil mixing operations, particularly where highly plastic, clay-bearing soils are encountered.

TerraFlow™ may be mixed with bentonite to reduce the permeability of Soil-Cement-Bentonite (SCB) cutoff walls

Advantages
  • Superior performance when used with sulphide/sulphate-bearing materials commonly found in mine tailings
  • Potential binder reductions in some circumstances
  • Allows for more efficient and cost-effective backfilling in underground mines
  • Optimizes use/reuse of material, including cementitious materials
  • Elimination of tailing detention and/or disposal requirement
  • Pre-blended before arriving on site to promote maximum working efficiency and reduce site equipment
  • requirements
  • Blend proportions may be varied according to specific requirements as determined by preliminary testing
  • Saves energy and natural resources
  • Superior performance in clay-bearing soils
Applications
  • Underground stope backfill with paste or rock
  • Underground Zinc, Gold, Copper, Silver and Lead mines
  • Jet grouting cut off walls and piles
  • Deep soil and cutter soil mixing methods for ground improvement
  • Construction of caisson and secant wall piling

TerraFlow™ is formulated to work with mine backfill material to meet the unique needs of the underground mining industry and is not suitable for use in concrete, concrete products, or shotcrete applications.

Tercem 3000®

Manufactured with Portland cement, granulated blast furnace slag, and silica fume, Tercem 3000® is ideal for high-performance concrete applications. It is well suited for walls, foundations, beams, columns, water retention structures, precast and prestressed products, roads and bridges, and industrial floors. In addition, it can provide outstanding results in roller-compacted concrete.

A Proven Track Record

Tercem 3000® has been used since 1998 to produce quality concrete meeting stringent design requirements for strength and durability.

Ideal for Canadian Seasons

As with all concrete, for good freeze-thaw resistance and good deicer scaling resistance, a properly designed mixture that is finished and cured in accordance with ACI and CSA specifications and standards is essential.

Advantages

Tercem 3000® works synergistically to produce concrete that has:

  • Superior strength
  • Increase resistance to alkali-aggregate reactions
  • Increased resistance to sulphate attack
  • Good salt scaling resistance
  • Good freeze-thaw resistance
  • Reduced permeability
Applications
  • Bridge Decks
  • PreCast
  • PreStress
  • High Durability Applications
