DR. ANDREW J. STEWART

Vice President, Cement Manufacturing & Supply Chain, Eastern Canada

Andrew Stewart has been Vice-President of Cement Manufacturing & Supply Chain in Lafarge’s Eastern Canada division since 2020 and held leadership roles for the cement division since 2019 in Sales, Logistics, and Manufacturing. Previously, he was General Manager, North and Central Ontario leading a division of the Lafarge concrete business with both fixed and portable ready-mix plants. A Canadian citizen, Andrew originally joined Holcim Group at their technical centre in Switzerland as a specialist in clinker and cement manufacturing, thereafter moving into a corporate role supporting North American and United Kingdom regional strategy; he returned to Canada in 2015 to take P&L responsibility in Lafarge Canada.
 
Andrew has been in the Group for over 15 years driving commercial advancement, operational excellence and people development. Leading the cement team today, Andrew is guiding the business through a generational change and piloting manufacturing sites to a new level of reliability, efficiency and environmental stewardship.
 
Andrew holds a BSc. (hon) from the University of Toronto in environmental geochemistry, M.Sc. in geology from McGill University, a Ph.D. from ETH Zurich in geochemistry and an Executive MBA jointly from the Rotman School of Management and the University of St. Gallen.
